疫情之下，孩子们的暑假都是怎么过的？

美好的暑假就这样结束了,受新冠疫情影响,出门旅行、回国寻亲访友计划全都泡汤了,那么孩子们的暑假都是怎么过的呢？NPC 艺术设计学院9年级的Ethan同学要和我们分享一下他愉快而有意义的暑假生活。

Ethan是大家眼中的"别人家的孩子",品学兼优,热爱艺术创作,有自己的理想和追求。
Ethan妈妈坦言,对于学习、兴趣爱好和游戏时间,Ethan有自己的规划,并且自律地认真遵守,完成该完成的功课,同时让自己适当放松和休息。
所以,在各门功课保持A的情况下,还能继续将钢琴、绘画、足球及汽车设计等Ethan热爱的活动合理地分配好时间做。

Ethan在NPC艺术设计学院学习创意绘画3年,从兴趣爱好开始,逐渐确立了将设计与艺术作为未来专业的目标。除了画画,他还喜欢设计,尤其是对设计车的痴迷和喜爱。

对于Ethan的暑假schedule,妈妈没有过问,因为孩子自己早就已经做好了详细合理的安排。这个暑假,除了日常的学习和体育锻炼,Ethan积极地参与了列治文艺术馆主办的为期三周的"青少年艺术夏令营"活动。

有趣的艺术实践活动让孩子体验了艺术创作的快乐,还有感而发,用中文和英文和我们分享了他这三个星期艺术学习的感想,希望更多的学习艺术和设计,未来梦想从事艺术相关专业的同学们,能够踊跃参加社区艺术实践活动,扩展自己的视野,同时渡过一个难忘的暑假。

During the summer break, I participated in the Youth Summer Art Intensive Program hosted by Richmond Art Gallery. In a short 3-week duration, many exciting activities and events occurred and the experience was magnificent. In a week, there is one outdoor session and one online session in which inspiring artists of the program come together to learn with each other alongside art professionals; The rest of the week is time for the completion of assignments. However, the variety of the assignments actually make it fun. For example, in one week I worked on scene studies and speed-sketches, in another week I worked on an Herbarium project and created cyanotypes with the package of art tools provided by the art gallery. In online sessions, there are also artistic talks in which we are introduced to different artists and their artworks. Ranging from architectural designs to floral patternon roadside electrical boxes, it was really inspiring to see how there are so many different ways to showcase one's artistic expressions. There is also a final project which is a photographic sculptural project created with photo spheres that will be on display in a Richmond public park, something I am really excited about. There is a balanced combination of the training of fundamental skills and the opportunity to explore other concepts such as herbarium and nature studies. Guest artists that are elites in a particular field of study are also invited, which creates wonderful opportunities to learn the best from the best.

I feel like the greatest part of this program is just how extroverted and supportive everyone is in the program, from the students to the teachers. I remember on the first day when we met outdoors, no one knew each other, but all it took was a single “hi” to trigger conversations, and that is how simple it is to establish new friendships. Especially when participants in the program are truly passionate towards art and have a common interest, I found that there are a lot of commonalities among the new people I met, which makes socialization even easier. The teachers and instructors are extremely helpful. They give lots of helpful tips and lessons, and makes the group of artists connected even more with their affable and kind personality.

In conclusion, I have gained a lot from the program, both artistically and informatively. I have encountered many mediums of art that I have never seen before, and it was great to try them out. Since we also learned about concepts of nature and plants, my vision and knowledge of the world we live on has also increased. Along with super supportive friends and teachers, this program sure did make my summer better, and what I have gained from the experience will definitely carry on into my future.

暑假期间，我参加了列治文艺术馆（Richmond Art Gallery）举办的Youth Summer Art Intensive（艺术夏令营）。为期三周的艺术夏令营包括很多丰富的活动,很高兴和大家分享一下我的感想。

艺术夏令营活动,每星期有一天可以和同学、老师们见面上课（当然是在保持一定社交距离的情况下）,还有一天是线上课程,剩下的时间用来完成个人创作,就是我们的作业。什么？作业？作业一听起来就很枯燥,恰恰相反的是夏令营留的作业不但没有令人头疼,而且是兴致很高地一步步把它完成。每次的创作主题都截然不同,创作思路没有局限,老师也一只鼓励我们去挑战以前没有尝试过的美术技巧。比如说,在第一个星期我画了很多速写与科学绘图,到了第二个星期我完成了一个用蓝晒法与植物素描创作的植物标本书(艺术馆提供创作所需的材料)。线上课,几位老师给我们介绍很多世界各国的现代艺术家,从建筑设计师到街头艺术家,看到不同的艺术表达方式让我开阔了眼界,同样也给予了我很多未来创作的灵感和启发。最后我们还做了一个全景相片雕塑作品,而且会在Richmond的一个公园进行展览,让我很期待。

在夏令营中,我们不但锻炼了绘画基本功,还探索了很多别的领域,比如自然课程与植物研究。特邀艺术家们也参与了教学,并且深入地传授了很多有趣的艺术方面的知识。我觉得这个夏令营最好的一点就是参与者与老师们都超级友善，而且性格非常阳光,外向。我们第一天见面时,大家都互不相识,简单地打个招呼"Hi",接下来就愉快地相互沟通起来。参加夏令营的同学们都非常热爱美术，接触时间长一点后我发现其实我们都有很多共同点。当然,亲切热情的老师们也帮助我很多,教我们很多重要的创作技巧和常识。

短短的三个星期,让我也学到了很多我以前没有接触过的绘画方式,经过尝试对我以后的学习和创作一定能有帮助;学习关于大自然的相关知识让我了解更多地球的深奥之处;参与夏令营活动,又结识了新的同学还有热情的艺术家老师,和更多志同道合的人在一起工作是让人非常愉快的事情。艺术夏令营活动丰富了我的暑假生活,令我视野更加开阔,接触和学习到更宽广的艺术领域,也更加坚定了我对艺术学习的信念。
